A sterile syringe distributor – Vermont CARES – faced steady criticism from city officials last Monday night after its mobile center was spotted on Lake Street earlier this month.
During the exchange, Vermont CARES executive director Theresa Vezina defended the program, pointing out the sterile syringe program had been available in St Albans since at least 2014.
City officials, however, expressed concern that so many syringes distributed by the service provider were being found in public places.
