NM: Push continues to get naloxone spray into New Mexico high schools

Despite big support, a bill to fund overdose-reversing spray for New Mexico students never made it to Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s desk this session.

But the lawmaker behind it now says he’s determined to make sure that life-saving medication is available in high schools. “What we want to do is make it available so that students can take if off campus. We want every single medicine chest in this state to have naloxone sprays,” Sen. Antonio Maestas (D-Albuquerque) said.
