The medical examiner for five counties in Mid-Michigan is warning of “grave danger” from a bad batch of fentanyl circulating in the community.
Dr. William Morrone, who covers Arenac, Bay, Iosco, Midland and Tuscola counties, said he’s investigated six deadly overdoses over the past 11 days. He said the “very unusual” trend shows drug users are in “grave danger.”
“There is a really bad batch of fentanyl and we need to warn the public and first responders,” Morrone said in a statement released by the Midland County Department of Public Health.
