In an effort to reduce overdose deaths, the Washington State Department of Health has launched a tool online to help Washingtonians find free naloxone, a medication that can reverse opioid overdoses such as those caused by fentanyl.
According to WDH, preliminary data from 2024 shows that more than 3,100 people in Washington died from overdoses that year. 79% of those cases involved opioids.
