Flubrotizolam (2-bromo-4-(2-fluorophenyl)-9-methyl-6H-thieno[3,2-f][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a][1,4]diazepine) is a thienotriazolodiazepine derivative with potent sedative and anxiolytic effects, which has been sold as a designer drug.

The drug is commonly referred to by the slang term “Fanax”, referring to its marketing as an imitation of Xanax in the bar pill shape. “Fanax” can refer to Flubrotizolam, Flubromazolam, or a number of similar drugs.
Online mentions of flubrotizolam have emerged on Reddit in 2022, following the drug’s first trend in Summer 2021.
