Fentanyl test strips, or FTS, are a drug checking technology that can test drugs for the presence of fentanyl.
There are many different fentanyl-like drugs and they can also cause you to overdose quickly. It’s hard to tell the difference between them all by just taste, smell, color or feel. Fentanyl test strips are easy to use tests to see if your drugs have some types of fentanyl in them.
Fentanyl test strips might not detect some fentanyl-like drugs that have been found in the US, like carfentanil, sufentanil, alfentanil, benzylfentanyl, benzoylfentanyl, U47700, and U49900. Use care whether or not you get a positive test.
Although research suggests that FTS could save lives and help spur positive decision-making around drug use, the technology is banned for use in most states, and are considered “drug paraphernalia”.
